Structural Colour In Natural Systems

Hello students,
Hope you are doing well. Colours have always fascinated humans, whether it be the myriad of colours from the wings of the butterflies or be it the beautiful colours smeared in the feathers of a peacock, they are amazing. Aren't they?Want to know more about colours. Here i have a short presentation on colours as seen in the nature around us. Science Is Fun

Hello
Welcome to my blog.I am a Science teacher.I love teaching children different activities of science. My interest is in the field of light matter interaction and my specialized field is BioPhotonics. Experiments brings us closer to facts and theories. My blog contains different activities for school students, facts related to science, interesting science articles, science quiz etc.Want to know more about me?.....Follow my blog for regular updates..thank you.

   DO YOU KNOW ?

1)The human brain is over three times as big as the brain of other mammals that are of similar body size.

SCIENCE ACTIVITY
Sunlight consist of seven colours

                                               Double rainbow formation

Let's try out a simple activity.
Things required
1)A bucket
2)Water
All of us know that rainbow consist of seven colours. As a kid you might have wondered at the beauty of the rainbow.Have you ever thought about about the phenomenon behind this beauty of nature. It happens because of a process known as dispersion of light. The spectrum of colours you see in a rainbow can be seen easily at home.Try this out.Take a bucket and fill it up with water.Put it outside your home. Now take a handful of water and put it in your mouth. Now throw it against the sun. What do you observe?Try it again.Share your experience.
